Great resort and amazing snow this year. Hospitality was excellent throughout the resort. Especially the manager Fred. Great on and off piste skiing.

We have just returned from a week at Okushiga Kogen Hotel and found it an ideal place to stay. The food was fantastic, especially the French restaurant and the breakfasts, and having ski hire in the hotel and the international ski school across the road was perfect for us with our 4 children. The staff were great and it was all very comfortable. We were able to access so many different ski areas from Okushiga Kogen and overall we had a wonderful trip.

Loved this place!!!! Best powder anywhere in the world. Hardly anyone on the runs ( mid January). This place feels remote, being at the very farthest edge of the Shiga Kogen ski area. You can still access the whole area from here, unless there is a blizzard, which is the price you pay for so much fresh light fluffy powder. There is nothing to do here but ski and eat the superb french food and enjoy the entertainment each night. The hotel is so friendly and relaxing. The package deal with breakfast, dinner, ski hire and lift passes has to be the best value for money anywhere. My husband and two adult children loved it. I was so sad to leave!

Our family and friends had a really good time here. The service level of the staff is absolutely fantastic. Rental equipment here is of very high standard. There are plenty of English speaking ski instructors. It was not crowded there during the Xmas holiday period. The only drawback is that the snow condition is inconsistent in December generally. We were very lucky in that we got a good amount of snow on our arrival (Dec 23). Jan and Feb should be a much better time to visit this resort. I will definitely come back. One last thing, there is very little option for food beyond the 2 hotels in the area.
