Ripley Creek Inn Packages
Ripley Creek Inn in Stewart BC is a base of operations for
Last Frontier Heliskiing (along with
Bell 2 Lodge). Ripley Creek is located in Stewart BC, a little old mining town on the border of Alaska. See the Last Frontier Heliskiing location tab for more information. Stewart is not a bustling town full of tourists. With a population of approximately 500 folks (and probably much less during winter), it’s very small, quiet and delightfully remote.
The terrain accessed from Ripley Creek in the southern part of the LFH tenure is exciting and offers long runs on glaciers and in open bowls as well as some of the most spectacular tree runs anywhere.
The historic Ripley Creek Inn has been lovingly restored and provides plenty of character. The surrounding buildings are also quite remarkable and offer a little flavour of the colourful history of this gold mining town.
You have the option of 4, 5 and 7 day trips and the Last Frontier heli skiing consists of only 3 groups of 4 guests and a certified guide (A.C.M.G. or U.I.A.G.M.) per helicopter. Each of the heliski packages has a vertical guarantee, with skiing and snowboarding beyond that charged per additional 1,000 vertical metres (or feet). This has the advantage over the unlimited vertical packages of some other operators, in that you’re not paying a premium upfront for skiing that you might not get.
The package also includes all meals, après-ski snacks, and the use of powder skis and poles or snowboard, avalanche transceivers, and other safety equipment including ABS airbags.
If the conditions are unfavourable for flying, there are some other activities in Stewart. Go fishing on the Portland Canal, visit a museum for a history lesson, or check-out one of the local watering holes for a chance to meet some of the locals that call Stewart BC their home. Or head across the border to Hyder Alaska, an incredibly eccentric town that has a particularly quirky pub where you can get Hyderized!
